In my quest to study and know as much as possible about K-State, I recently purchased an old book off of E-bay. I discovered two missing parts of Alma Mater.
We all know the first.
” I know a spot which I love full well,
‘Tis not in forest nor yet in dell,
Ever it holds me with magic spell,
I think of thee, Alma Mater,”
(Chorus line)
KSU, We’ll carry the banner high!
KSU, Long may thy colors fly!
Loyal to thee thy children will swell the cry,
Hail! Hail! Hail! Alma Mater
Second part begins.
“There is a song that my heart would sing,
Telling of homage which love can bring,
Clear and impassioned its tones shall ring,
I sing of thee, Alma Mater,”
(Chorus line)
Third part begins.
“Bright gleams a beacon across life’s sea,
Guiding my bark where so ever it be,
Emblem of truth and of constancy,
I turn to thee, Alma Mater,”
(Chorus line)
I plan to memorize and know the final two by heart.
Forever A Wildcat,
Be Proud, Be Purple.
Geaux Cats!
